Bot leaveing Legendary items behind

So I was watching the bot run a rift just out of curiosity, and the bot killed the rift guardian looted continued to kill enemies in the area. I legendary dropped of of one of the enemies, the bot just keep on killing all enemies slowly going farther from the legendary; once it finished killing the enemies it just ported back to town and closed the rift. Luckily I was fast enough with the pause button and I was able to port back in and grab the legendary it left behind.

If that was just from me watching the bot for 5 minutes, it makes me wonder how many legs it is leaving behind?

Anyone know hot to get the bot to loot better? Is anyone else having this same problem?

I usually keep an eye on the bot when I'm at home, watching movies and I didn't see any missed legendaries using the following options: sell on bag capacity 55/60 and prevent missing loot.
